Lions at Saints Tickets - Superdome - Sept 13, 2009 - Blastoff

Well, we've got one more Saints pre-season ticket left and it against the Dolphins. Not expecting to see Drew Brees much, or at all. I would like to see Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush. their absence is making me worry. But maybe I should have any qualms at all. The way this offense is churning out points, we may have enough depth and breadth to let them heal.

My Lions at Saints tickets are burning a hole in my pocket. It's probably the only Saints game I'll catch before a work related trip to Korea. I have mixed feeling about the Lions. I hope they give the Saints a good game, enough to lift their spirits, but naturally New Orleans needs to prevail in the end. One day, the Detroit Lions will break the losing streak. But it ain't happening Sept 13 in the Superdome against the Saints.  On a good note for the Lions, after watching the Raiders get whipped by the Black and Gold, Detroit may not be the only franchise with a goose egg in 16 games, Oakland was scarily bad and could easily duplicate the feat.

Remember, my bet is on Stafford starting this game. If the Detroit Lions put some talent around him in the next few seasons, he could be a good one. Or he could be a total buts with Pro Bowl roster around him. That's what makes it interesting.

Lions vs Saints Tickets - Sept 13th - Be There for the QB Answer

This Lions vs Saints contest should be a laugher. I say should be, judging by by the saints pre-season whipping of the Lions AFC Weak Sister, the Raiders. But it will give us a better picture of what the New Orleans Saints can bring to bear on an opposing team. Which raises the question: Will the Saints use everything in their arsenal against the Lions? I doubt it. I think Sean Payton will be able to use the Lions as an extra pre-season game to sharpen his squad.

But I digress. I'm thinking this Lions - Saints matchup will be the debut of Matthew Stafford. Call me crazy but I think Detroit is eager to get this kid on the field, even if it means taking some lumps along the way. Duante Culpepper hasn't done a lot to distinguish himself or make it easy for the Lions to pick him as starter. All things being even, the kid with the big contract will start against the Saints.

We've got one more game to see how things pan out. But if you're interested in seeing a #1 Draft choice in his first NFL start, Lions vs Saints tickets on Sept 13th are a pretty good bet in my mind.

Dolphins at Saints Tickets - The Best Pre-season Game is Last

It's almost too obvious that the Dolphins vs Saints game in the Superdome in the last week of pre-season should be the Saints best pre-season game. Though the schedule makers could care less, they've given New Orleans the toughest game last, which is as it should be. This is where the true reality of what the New Orleans Saints can be will be brought to light.

I expect the Saints and Dolphins to be running at full speed. For New Orleans it means unleashing Drew Brees and company on a formidable Dolphins defense that ranked in the Top Ten in 2008 in the most important category of all, opponents scoring. A stern test for this Saints offense is just the ticket. Even more importantly, the Saints defense will be facing a Dolphins team that can run the football and run it pretty well. Maybe key here is that the Miami running game allowed the Dolphins to finish in the Top Ten in passing yards per game, something a still unproven Saints defense will find to be quite a challenge.

As of right now we still have to get through the Saints visit to Oakland, but the Dolphins taking on the Saints in the Superdome is on the minds of Saints fans as the real challenge of the Saints pre-season.

Saints at Raiders - Two Sides of a Coin

The Saints at Raiders game should provide some interesting contrast. For example:

Saints Brees vs Raiders ? - The New Orleans Saints have one of the NFL's best quarterbacks. Drew Brees has been a godsend, spearheading the NFl's best offense the last three years. The Oakland Raiders drafted Jamarcus Russel out of LSU and are still waiting for him to emerge as an elite NFL quarterback or even a starting NFL quarterback. While Brees has a lock on the Saints QB position, Russel will have a fight on his hands keeping Jeff Garcia off the field.

Saints Running Backs vs Raiders Running Backs - The New Orleans Saints can point to Reggie Bush as a running back but they aren't really fooling anybody. Bush is a wide receiver who happens to line up behind the quarterback on some plays. The Oakland Raiders have been using Justin Fargas, a tough running back with a hell bent for leather style, but in 2009 look for Darren McFadden to play a larger role. McFadden suffered with injury his rookie year but if he's healthy he can take it home from anywhere on the field. The Saints, aside from Reggie Bush the pseudo-runnung back, may have struck gold with a rapidly evolving Pierre Thomas and a revitalized Mike Bell.

Saints Colston vs Raiders Heyward Bey - This isn't really fair. The Saints Marques Colston is a know quantity now and should resume his role as the favorite target of Drew Brees. Oakland's Heyward-Bey is a rookie wide receiver who hasn't shown anyone anything but speed. But we're forgetting Javon Walker, who in reality may be looking at playing a reduced role if he doesn't pick things up. Still, he's a veteran, and could burst out of the gate.

Saints Defense vs Raiders Defense - Statistically, neither team has anything to boast about. Both need major improvement. For the Saints, that improvement needs to come in the pass rush and more importantly the secondary. For the Oakland Raiders, the secondary is competent, with a bright spot of Nnamdi Asomugha, but the defensive line needs some work.

Saints NFC South vs Raiders AFC West - Here's where the Raiders have a distinct advantage. Only the San Diego Chargers appear to be a threat at this moment. The Broncos and Chiefs are both rebuilding, leaving some soft spots in the Raiders schedule. The Saints are facing one tough haul in the NFC South with the Panthers and Falcons looking playoff ready. Plus, New Orleans will have to play the Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys, along with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. It's a killer schedule.

Saints need Backups vs Raiders Need Starters -With all this in mind, remember that the Raiders and Saints have two different golas in mind for this game. The Oakland Raiders need to find players to start and win football games. The Saints are largely settled on offensive starters and just don't want anybody hurt. Defensively, they'll be looking at the secondary, and spend the rest of their time finding players that can be contribute on special teams while developing for down the road.

Saints at Raiders - The Knockout Punch

Saints vs Raiders might be just what both teams need. the New Orleans Saints need a big running game to build on and the LA Raiders need, well a knockout punch. Frankly, the whole Al Davis thing is getting old. How much longer the NFL and especially raiders fans, will put up with a man who is, to put it charitably, not as good as he used to be, running an NFL franchise on whim and revenge remains to be seen. It goes to show you the power of the NFL, as LA football fans and Detroit football fans keep coming back for more.

Back to Raiders vs Saints. New Orleans is coming off a game against the Texans that saw the emergence of a passable running game, one that could be highly effective when coupled with the Saints already potent passing attack. In more than one game in 2008, New Orleans could have walked away with a win if the opposing defense would have had to worry about a ground game. Against the Raiders, New Orleans will have a chance to get that running game in high gear as LA showed no ability to stop the run against the 49ers last night.

While Mike Bell was the star of the show in Houston, word is that Pierre Thomas will get the bulk of the carries in regular season play. The Raiders game would be ideal for Thomas to step out, assert his position, and have a breakout game. Realistically, unless Pierre Thomas can do this, I'm seeing a pretty even split between him and Bell as far as carries go. It's also going to be interesting to see how Reggie Bush fits into a scheme that frankly, migh not even need him. As much as he hates the though of being labeled a third-down back, if the shoe fits wear it. I have never seen Reggie Bush run between the tackles the way Bell did or Thomas has done in the past.

The Raiders at Saints game will be interesting, as Saints fans keep their fingers crossed that the running game takes a step forward and not back. We would also like to see the Saints secondary come across as dominant, even if it's against a Raiders team that isn't up to snuff. In New Orleans, 2009 success will hinge heavily on defense, as the Saints face the toughest schedule in the NFC, and possibly in the NFL. A knockout punch in LA is what we're looking for.

Raiders vs Saints Tickets - Keep On Running

Saints ticket holders got a major boost to their confidence last night as Mike Bell put a pounding on the Houston Texans with a 10 carry, 100 yard perfprmance that included a nice 46-yard touchdown run. Coming on the heels of a season that saw New Orleans completely unable to finish games with a ground attack, the effect has Saints fans riding high. Not to worry, the passing attack is still in good shape, and may in fact be better in 2009 than it was in 2008. As I've mentioned before, the improvement in the running game could result in Drew Brees stats being less spectacular, but the Saints record making up for it.

Now it's time to start thinking Raiders vs Saints, the 3rd pre-season game on the Saints schedule. Unfortunately, the Raiders have become a sort of third world NFL team, and don't offer as much of a challenge to New Orleans. Local fans will be looking hard at the Raiders JaMarcus Russell, as he battles for a starting spot against the savvy veteran Jeff Garcia. In fact, Jeff Garcia may offer the Saints secondary a test, as he has always been great at finding the open man and is not prone to making dumb mistakes.

But what we're really looking for as Saints ticket holders, is a repeat performance of the running success we found last night. We want to know this is not a fluke.Let's get this thing going, and keep it going all through the NFL regular season. We're going to need it.

Texans vs Saints Tickets -Reliant Rumble Leaves Saints Smiling

I bought Texans vs Saints tickets in oder to get a feel for the development of the Saints on both sides of the ball. I'll start with the offense. Coming into the season the Saints needed a rugged ground game to complement the passing attack. From what I saw in Reliant Stadium, they've found it. Mike Bell rushed 10 times for 100 yards, including a 46-yard score. Pierre Thomas ran 4 times for 20 yards. Good numbers and a solid performance on the ground. Drew Brees was 9 of 14 for 87 yards andd a TD. Surprisingly, Joey Harrington put on a strong performance moving the Saints down the field in a 2 minute drill. All this against a decent Texans defense.

On the other side of the ball the Saints defense had some good moments, creating turnovers at crucial times, and actually stopping a potent Texans offense more than once. While not overpowering, this new Saints defense has big potential. They could be the defense we've lacked for three seasons. A little more time to jell by the starters and we could be have a respectable overall team.

We're going to need it. The Falcons and Panthers wer both playoff teams. The Eagles went to the NFC Championship. The Giants are expected to win the NFC East with a defensive squad that looks beastly. And the Dallas Cowboys are favorites to push for a playoff spot.A tough season calls for a tough defense and wins generated by both sides of the ball, and this is going to be one tough season.

Falcons vs Saints Tickets - Gettin Scary in the NFC South

The spectre of Falcons vs Saints tickets is getting pretty scary. No doubt this will be one mega-huge game in the NFC South in 2009. While a few weeks ago I was pretty confident that the Saints would be vastly improved and the Falcons would experience a letdown, I'm somewhat less optimistic today.

The reason? I spent a little time watching the first part of the Falcons vs Eagles game last night. The starters for Atlanta looked awesome. Turner ran over and by everyone on the field. Matt Ryan looked like a 10 year NFL veteran. Granted, the Philadelphia Eagles were nowhere near full strength, but the fact that the Falcons are as solid or better than they were last season, when they went 11-5, is pretty obvious. For New Orleans to come out on top in this Saints Falcons matchup, the Black and Gold defense is going to have to play way better than they did against the Bengals.

As I write this, I'm still waiting for the Texans vs Saints showdown in Houston. Maybe I'll feel better after that. Regardless, get ready for some brutal Saints games this season. The NFC South, where the Saints vs Panthers, Saints vs Falcons, and Saints vs Bucs, have always been highly competitive NFL games, is going to be juiced up like we've never seen. There three potentially killer teams making their home in the NFC South and who's left standing at the end is impossible to call right now.

Lions at Saints Tickets - Closer Than You Think

Looking at the Lions vs Saints matchup, it's almost the perfect scenario for an opener for both teams. For the Detroit Lions, they get a team that's expected to seriously contend in the NFC. Therefore if they lose this opener, which everyone expects they will, there's no stigma. For the Saints, the Lions offer a good warmup. But that's a dangerous thing. Underestimating the Lions could cost the Saints some face.

Another bonus for the Lions? They get to face a Saints defense that will still be finding it's way. The opportunity is there for the Lions defense to actually score some points, and in Detroit they'll take what they can get. nd there's the rub. Are the Detroit Lions actually a team that can get worked up to win? Or has it become a high just to be in a game and the end, even if you eventually lose?

Here's what I see coming from Lions vs Saints tickets. I think you'll actually get a competitive game for two quarters. I don't see the Saints secondary as being amazingly better and so Duante Culpepper and Calvin Johnson actually might get something done if they put the ball in the air. Remember also, Will Smith and Charles Grant will probably be out on suspension, so the Saints pass rush might be lacking. That's a recipe for defensive disaster in New Orleans. But in the end, Drew Brees will find a way to score enough points for the win.

Of course, the preseason has just begun, so making any type of predictions is a foolish game. The Saints secondary could jell immediately, Smith and Grant could get the go ahead, and New Orleans could enter the regular season with a powerful defense. But I don't think that's going to happen. I believe we'll be riding the backs of the offense again in 2009, with possibly a slightly better but improving defense. If they can come together by mid-season, when the NFC South games get ramped up, we could do some damage.

Texans vs Saints Tickets - Battle Time in Houston

Man, I hope things keep getting hot in Houston. That would make my Texans vs Saints tickets even better. It seems after two days of practice in the Texas heat the new Orleans Saints and Houston Texans are getting tired of each other. Fights broke out today between the Saints fiesty tight end Jeremy Shockey and Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans. The Rod Cloeman got into it with Vonta Leach. This is the kind of thing that makes NFL football interesting.

Do you think these guys won't remember the little scuffle when they get out on the field for real? HMMM, maybe so. And maybe that extra impetus of wanting to bang the other guy around will put a little extra juice into a Texans saints matchup that didn't have much pizzaz before today. Now that everyone has quit playing nice, maybe we can get some football in.

Saints Tickets - Texans vs Saints - My Watchful Eye

This Texans vs Saints game should be a fun time for me. I'm the kind of Saints fan that gets warmed up slowly. I'm also the kind of Saints fan that's been through 30 years of waiting so my enthusiasm is always tempered with a huge dose of reality. So here's what I'm going to be looking for when the Texans and Saints kick off:

Saints Secondary vs Texans Passing Offense - This a major sticking point for the Saints success. The Bengals game didn't cure my concerns either. While the defense overall looked better, New Orleans got burned on some long plays. Our Achille's heel of the past two seasons. Now we'll see a Saints secondary vs Texans passing game that should be another test. Jason David is gone, so we'll see what the Saints coaches believe is a stronger lineup.

Saints Linebackers vs Texans Rushing - This is another point on the defense that I see lacking. Bringinging in Vilma was an excellent move. Fujita is also a solid starter. But the Saints lack that killer linebacker feared around the league. And our depth is suspect.

Saints Offense vs Texans Defense - While it looks like the passing game will once again be overpowering, a team destined for the Super Bowl should be able to run. Again, I saw no eveidence of this in the Bengals game. Hamilton got the bulk of the carries. I hope this indicates that Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell have already proven themselves and the Saints coaches don't need to see anymore. For the sake of my own comfort level, I'd like to see Thomas or Bell start against the Texans and gain some decent chunks of yardage. Seeing Jeremy Shockey continue and improve on his rapport with Drew Brees would be nice.

Saints Special Teams - Find a backup for Reggie Bush. Undoubtedly, Bush will be the punt returner. But he's been hurt multiple games the last few seasons so we need a reliable guy there. On kickoffs, I like Lance Moore but realize he could be a starter as a receiver so that leaves maybe Skyler Green, whom I'm hoping will make the squad.

Hopefully, when this Texans vs Saints game is all over, I'll be feeling better about some things.

Texans vs Saints Tickets in Houston Pre-Season Road Trip

This Texans Saints matchup gives a Saints fan an excuse to take a little jaunt down to Houston for the weekend. Always a nice trip, I think the Texans will give New Orleans a stern test of the new look Saints secondary. News is out now that Saints cornerback Jason David has been cut, severing ties with an unfortunate mistake for both the franchise and the player.

For too long, David has been seen as the weak link in a weak group of defensive backs. Now we'll find out as the Texans unleash wide receiver Andre Johnson and tight end Owen Daniels on us. Better to take our medicine now and find out what we've got before the regular season surprises us. Johnson is a Pro Bowl receiver, finishing tops in 2008 with 115 catches and over 1,500 yards. Just what the Saints secondary needs to see, as Gregg Williams tries to change the reputation of the NFL's most victimized unit.

The other side of Texans vs Saints is the opportunity to see what a Saints offensive line can do against a Pro Bowl lineman like Mario Williams. Williams has been on a crusade to prove the Texans made the right choice by passing up Reggie Bush. The scales are pretty well balanced right now. Bush has proven to be a dangerous threat, explosive in the open field but has missed time and lacks the power to run between the tackles. Williams has been a long term project, is just coming into his own, but looks like he'll be a force for many years to come.

meanwhile, I'll grab my Texans Saints tickets, spend a few hours on the road, and enjoy some Tex-Mex eating while I'm down there. I'm hoping to see an interesting contest, gain some insights on the Saints, and come back with an optimistic outlook on our secondary.

Dolphins at Saints Tickets - Preseason Finale Sept 3 Superdome

Dolphins vs Saints tickets should be a good way to gear up for the regular season. Both the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints go into the 2009 NFL season with high expectations but different outlooks. The Miami Dolphins are trying to build on a very succesful 2008 in which they posted an 11-5 record, to the surprise of the rest of the NFL.

The New Orleans Saints are on the other end, trying to beef up to respectability after a very dissapointing season of mostly defensive ineptitude. While the Saints offense commands respect, opposing teams turned games into laughers by attacking with the deep ball and finding a good result in most instances.

So what I'm looking for in this Dolphins - Saints matchup is for New Orleans to attack a Chad Pennington led offense. Pennington isn't the best QB to come down the pike but he's a savvy veteran who'll eat you up when you lose focus. The Saints secondary has been prone to giving up the big play, a weakness that allowed beaten teams to come back time and time again over the last few seasons. It's crucial for New Orleans to get into a confident, hard hitting, resilent mindset, or the Saints offense will be feeling the pressure to produce wins despite the defense, again in 2009.

But it's not all Pennington. Miami has developed a solid running game with Ronnie Brown and former Saint Ricky Williams. They've also been the authors of the Wildcat craze in the NFL, using Patrick Cobb to generate confusion on the defense. Overall, the Dolphins use some creative offense to produce yardage, something the Saints need to learn to deal with under new coordinator Gregg Williams.

Dolphins vs Saints tickets are a Saints fans best opportunity to understand what they'll get when the regular season begins. The Dolphins are a good quality AFC team and should pose enough of a challenge to the Saints both offensively and defensively, to get ready for the Lions game in the Superdome the following week.

Saints Tickets vs Oakland Raiders - Diminishing Capacity

Whin I think of my Saints road game tickets, it's hard not to pass off Raiders vs Saints tickets as some throwaway game. But it could be so much more. For one thing, there the battle between the fallen franchise savior Jamarcus Russel and newcomer JEFF Garcia? Do you think Garcia came to mentor and aid Russell into becoming a better QB? Don't kid youself. Garcia wants the job.

These Oakland Raiders are a direct reflection of Al Davis. Unconventional, off the wrist, controlled gambling style offenses are what will change some games swing on. Al won't wait too long to yank a QB if he doesn't like what he see's. Unfortunately, yanking him too quickly, when the new guy hasn't been fully acclimated to the system, can ruin him for life. Google David Carr.

I truly believe the Saints will have some problems with the Raiders. But not a whole lot. Later on, when the Raiders capture that elusive 1st victory, it'll be time to start thinking about stringing them together.

Lions at Saints Tickets - Saints Lion Tamers?

The NFL can be scary. Upcoming Lions at Saints tickets could prove that. At first glance it looks like our New Orleans Saints should have an easy time disposing of the Detroit Lions. But things aren't always what they seem. In the NFL, on any given Sunday......

The Lions have been a laughingstock for so long it almost seems like sacrilege to believe your team could lose to them. But the day is coming when the Detroit Lions will get their first win of the season. It's not likely they'll repeat the 0-16 fiasco of 2008. No, this 2009 version of the Lions could take someone by surprise and I'm hoping it isn't the New Orleans Saints.

First of all the Lions have shed themselves of the Matt Millen hangover. Sometimes just a change of coaches and regime can do wonders. Lately I've been looking at Detroit closely and I see some signs of life. Duante Culpepper, who reported to camp 30 pounds lighter and that much sharper, should win the starting QB spot ahead of the talented but raw Mark Stafford. Culpepper reunites with Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, who gave him his best years in Minnesota. The Saints will also have to deal with a promising young running back, Aaron Brown, who gave the Falcons fits with some explosive play. A ground game should also open things up for Culpepper and Calvin Johnson, who has matured into a legitimate threat over the last season. It's the little things that make me nervous when I think of the Lions and Saints in the Superdome Sept 13th.

Lions Vs Saints tickets will also offer a chance to see the Lions defense at full strength and in a new scheme. Held in check last season in a Cover 2, the new base 4-3 will be a more aggressive type defense and should chance the flavor of the Detroit Lions significantly. Now I'm starting to sweat, thinking of a Detroit Lions squad beginning to believe in themselves . Drew Brees and the offense need to score quickly and often and get that picture out of the heads of the Detroit Lions.

Maybe I'm a worry wart but looking over my Lions Vs Saints tickets, I keep thinking 'Don't be the first to lose to a new Detroit Lions." Then I remember that it the Lions AT THE SAINTS and in an insanity filled Superdome and I think "There's no place like home, there's no place like home." Lions vs Saints tickets, Sept 13th in the Superdome, are driving me nuts. I can't wait.

Bengals at Saints Tickets - Tonight It Begins

Bengals vs Saints tickets are the kickoff for what I'm hoping will be a great Saints season. It's always hard to contain my optimism at this time of year. After all, the Saints are still undefeated, there's plenty of reason for hope, and nobody has been injured. It seems every Saints season begins this way.

While I know there will be some ups and downs akong the way, I really think the Saints have a shot at the playoffs in 2009. Most of those hopes are pinned to an improving defense. I dread the though of having to watch the Saints offense score 35 points and have the team lose. Don't get me wrong, I love to watch the Saints run up the score in the Superdome. I just think if you score 28 points or so, you should win. New Orleans gave up way too may big plays in 2008 and that's the kind of thing that deflates a Saints fan pretty quick.

Tonight in the Dome I think we'll see the starters for one series, maybe two, and then it's on to a careful evaluation of the next level of talent. I'm interested in the Saints linebackers, defensive backs, and the running backs. I'm confident in pretty much the rest of the team. Then we'll start looking at Saints vs Texans.

Saints Tickets - See Offensive Firepower

If there's one thing 2009 Saints tickets should give, it's the chance to see a truly effective offense. The Saints led the NFl in several offensive categories. If you like to see the ball in the air Saints tickets are the way to go. New Orleans averaged over 400 yards a game and 300+ of those yards came through the air. Drew Brees threw for 5,069 yards and 34 touchdowns, completing 65% of his passes.

The scary thing is that 2009 could be even better. For large chunks of last season Brees was missing Marques Colston, his primary target, who played hurt even when he came back. Colston at full strength will be even more deadly. In addition, Tight End Jeremy Shockey was far from healthy, suffering a sports hernis and tendon problems. Saints training camp indicates these two are back and ready to go. Wide receiver Lance Moore became a proven force in the Saints offense in 2008. Shoulder problems have kept him from fully participating yet, but he's expected to return at full strength also. Finally, there's a battle developing in camp between Devery Henderson and Robert Meacham. Both have shown the ability to get deep, providing Brees with a downfield target he didn't have last season.

Better news may be coming on the ground. As prolific as the Saints were through the air, that's how weak they were in the running game. I think we can accept the fact that Reggie Bush is a force in the open field but leaves something to be desired in between the tackles running. Good news for Saints ticket holders is that it's almost a sure thing for either Pierre Thomas or Mike Bell to fill that role, giving the Saints a power running game that's been lacking.

So, in a nutshell, we'll see more weapons in an already deadly passing game, and the added dimension of being able to run the ball effectively. yes, it's still pre-season but I don't see anything to prevent our Saints tickets from being a fiureworks display in 2009.

Dolphins Saints Tickets - An NFL Preseason Game With Bite

Miami Dolphins at New Orleans Saints on Sept 3rd is the final pre-season matchup for both teams. This is the week where you really begin to get an idea of who's playing where and how everything fits together. While no NFl coach is going to tip his full hand before the regular season, they're facing tough decisions on the roster and most will want an idea of what they've got in full speed action. For the New Orleans Saints that means a look at the defense mostly. For the Miami Dolphins the questions aren't that glaring but there are a few roster spots that need to be addressed.

The Dolphins are coming off a year that took everyone by surprise, even themselves. Now they have to prove it wasn't just luck. It begins at quarterback as usual. Chad Pennington is still keeping the spot warm for Chad Henne. He may be hard to unseat. A quick release, cool under fire, and veteran savvy make Pennington the obvious choice. Henne, on the other hand, has a much stronger arm and could push his way into the spot. The Wild Card is Pat White, who could see time in special situations.

A bigger question concerning the Miami Dolphins is who'll be catching the passes. Dolphins coaches would love to see Tedd Ginn Jr. step up but speed aside, he's not there yet. Greg Camarillo is recovering from injury and Davone Bass could blossom. Two rookies on the roster, Patrick Turner (USC) and Brian Hartline (Ohio State) probably won't make a big hit just yet. Wild Card again? Pat White, who could be used in the slot.

During the Dolphins Saints game we'll probably see the Saints moving defensive backs in and out the whole time. Miami will want to make some final decisions on receivers and the Saints will be culling the keepers on a re-vamped defense laden with high expectations. Saints #1 Draft Choice Malcolm Jenkins could win a starting spot against the Dolphins.

Overall expect Dolphins Saints tickets to give you a high energy game between two NFL teams with high expectations. Each wants to set the tone for the opener and each has enough talent to make a push in their division. Oddly enough, I see the Dolphins as facing a tougher hurdle than the Saints. As tough as the NFC South will be, the AFC is rougher overall and Miami has to contend with the Patriots.

Derrick Brooks to Saints?

It was just a few days ago that I was rejoicing over the fact the New Orleans Saints has escaped the injury bug. That's pretty much over with now. Mark Simoneau has gone down with a tricep tear and it's quite possible his season is over. It's strange but injuries always seem to hit your weakest point and for the Saints that's the linebackers. Vilma is still effective and Scott Fujita is dependable but not spectacular. And so far that's pretty much it.

Now the Saints have been able to bring in Derrick Brooks, former Tampa Bay Bucs Pro Bowl linebacker, for a look. While I'm always dubious about relly veteran players, Brooks seemed to be playing at a high level when Tampa Bay cut him. There may still be enough left to help the Saints, and having a veteran who won't get duped, even if he's not in his prime, could be a good thing. Payton and staff will evaluate Brooks, along with Derek Smith, and make a choice.

Let's hope this ends the injury surge. Injuries have a lot to do with what kept us out of the playoffs last season.

Saints Jets Tickets Week 4

The New York Jets at New Orleans Saints will come in Week 4. I'm a little worried about this game to tell you the truth. The Jets have been pegged as the weakest team in the AFC East, and deservedly so. It's just that there are so many uncertainties when it comes to the New York Jets. The Saints are a more settled team, but still are undergoing some fundamental changes, notably on the defense.

The New York jets are a question mark all across the board. Rex Ryan has come on board as the Head Coach. Ryan is a positive, upbeat guy, which I think New York will need in his first year. He'll have to deal with a quarterback issue: Throw Mark Sanchez into a trial by fire or play Kellen Clemens for awhile? It's going to be a heated issue. Furthermore the Jets have few proven receivers, with Jerricho Cotchery the only guy with extensive NFl experience. It looks like the Jets will be depending on Thomas Jones and the running game for awhile.

As far as the Jets at Saints game on Oct. 4, what concerns me is the Saints tendency to give up big yardage to mediocre offenses. In the last two seasons, a quarterback needing a boost to his stats would love the see new Orleans Saints on the schedule. That can't happen this season and I would hate to see Mark Sanchez have his breakout performance in the Superdome. We've seen it too many times before.

Saints Training Camp _ It's All About the Defense

If you've been a Saints season ticket holder for the past few years, you came into the 2009 NFl season with only one worry: Will the New Orleans Saints have a defense this season?

The answers are still waiting for regualr season action but Saints Traing Camp seems to starting in a promising way. The Black and Gold Scrimmage seemed to be a showcase for defensive change as the unit snagged four turnovers and put hands on the quarterback another four times. One thing new Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams has promised is that this Saints defense will be an opportunistic one, forcing the opposing offense into mistakes and giving the ball to Drew Brees and Co.

It an encouraging sign that the Saints defense can play that way against their own top ranked offense.

More news coming out of camp is that Malcolm Jenkins has been signed. The #1 Draft pick is expected to push for a starting position. How much his 11 day holdout will set him back remains to be seen. But coaches seem to be happy with his dedication at mini-camp and his grasp of the system up to this point.

Panthers, Ailing - Saints Sailing

There are a number of contrasts between the Saints and Panthers. The New Orleans Saints are an explosive offense and up till now have had very little defense. The Carolina Panthers have had a great running game as of last season, but their only really effective weapon through the air has been Steve Smith. That image took a hit today as Smith went down with a shoulder injury. No word yet on how long he'll be out but losing him for any length of time in the regular season would be rough on the Panthers. Smith injury comes on top of the loss of defensive lineman Maake Kemoeatu, so the Panthers are hurting.

Carolina has also shown a tough defense, the envy of Saints ticket holders, especially in the pass rush, where Julius Peppers has shown enough to be paid over $15 million this season. The Saints haven't anyone of that caliber and may be faced with losing two starters for the first four games of the season.

So when Panthers vs Saints tickets come to fruition on Nov 8th in the Superdome, we're really going to see a battle of contrasting styles. My gut tells me that the powerful running game and strong defense combination is the real winner here. At least you'll be in every game. Should the Saints manage to put together a solid, not great but solid, defense, it should be enough to get them deep into the playoffs. Right now it looks as if the Saints have started to get their act together on D, however the jury is still out and I won't go hog wild with predictions. I like the way they're going but I still think to reach and win a Super Bowl you have to have a GOOD defense, not just an average one. And I still think we need to have a more effective between the tackles runner, with either Mike Bell or Pierre Thomas filling that role.

Saints Tickets Road Games - Rockin the Saints at Eagles First

While most Saints fans love the Superdome, and why wouldn't they, some select few get the chance to see Saints road games, a real experience. It's been my point of view that most Saints fans will extend some courtesy to visiting opponents. It's an extension of southern hospitality. But that's not always the case when the Saints go on the road.

Saints road game tickets open with a visit to the Philadelphis Eagles. Man, what a place to start. Eagles fans are well known for their rough and downright rude treatment of visiting fans. Stories abound of fans being bombarded with everything from beer to vegetables. If you've got tickets to the Saints at Eagles game, you might want to travel incognito.

Then again, some Saints fans just go for it. In your face fandom will definitely get you noticed in Philadelphia. And most fans will treat you pretty well. Yeah, there'll be some razzing going on and good natured putdowns, but for the most part they'll be in good spirits. Stay away from the rabble rousers, walk away from loudmouths, and you'll be OK.

New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles - From the Eagles Perspective

With Saints vs Eagles tickets getting ripe in the second week of the season, I thought it would be interesting to put myself in the shoes of a Philadelphia Eagles fan for a quick once over of this game. Having Saints season tickets, it's my usual perspective of being overly optimistic. By viewing the contest from the other side, maybe I'll have a more realistic view. But I doubt it.

OK, I'm an Eagles season ticket holder. The first thing I'm afraid of is the New Orleans Saints offense. When Brees is clicking he's unstoppable. I want to see a good pass rush from the Eagles defense to limit his time. That means Broderick Bunkley and Mike Patterson better be in good for. Brian Dawkins isn't around in the Eagles secondary anymore, but guys like Quintell Mikell and Asante Samuel will have to pick up the slack. Expect the Saints to score points but they have to be kept in check, maybe force a turnover or two.

When it comes to Eagles offense vs Saints defense I feel a little better. New Orleans has been as porous as cheesecloth. Need some yards? Just chunk it up there. Donovan McNabb is still capable of winning games and he's got DeSean Jackson against a weak Saints secondary. Also pray that Brian Westbrook is healthy.

New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles could be a high scoring game. In that case the odds lay with New Orleans. Plus, the Eagles are coming off what should be a tough game against the Carolina Panthers, while the Saints have what should be a laugher at home against the Detroit Lions. But maybe that means the Saints won't be ready, maybe they won't have the edge they'll need and the Eagles can get a quick lead and start running the ball.

Analyzing the Saints at Eagles game from the other side is making me worry. I'm gonna stop now.

Buccaneers Chasing Saints Falcons Panthers

Sometimes it pays to be the underdog. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will assume that role for now in the NFC South. Pundits have pegged everyone but the Bucs to assume control of the division. For now, at least in the minds of football writers, Tampa Bay is chasing the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers.

With the whole NFL structure looking elsewhere the Buccaneers could sneak up. The rest of the teams in the NFC South all have their weakness. Atlanta rode high with Matt Ryan but could come crashing down just as easily. The New Orleans Saints have an unproven defense. Carolina is hoping Jake Delholme can recover from a terrible playoff performance. Meanwhile the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are rebuilding.

That means teams like the Saints won't have to face a Monte Kiffin defense anymore. New players and a new coordinator could spell revival or chaos. Ditto the offense. As of now there is no one player with a lock on the starting QB spot in Tampa Bay. Byron Leftwich is looking to reinvigorate a career, Luke McCown is younger, more mobile, but not as experienced or as strong as Leftwich. Meanwhile, pressure to start Josh Freeman, who's got all the tools but no NFL experience, falls on new Head Coach Raheem Morris.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the Wild Card in the NFC South. But the whole division could go either way. It could be the best division in the NFC or if everything collapsed, one of the weaker.

Vick to Saints - Yeah, Kill a Good Thing

Is Michael Vick headed to the Saints? I kinda doubt it. Speculation has been rampant about Michael Vick and which NFL team will take the chance on him. Vick to the Saints doesn't seem to me to be a real possibility. It's interesting to think about though. Line up Drew Brees and Michael Vick in the backfield and see what happens. Do you think Drew Brees would even try to catch a swing pass from Vick?

Realistically, you've already got a guy who can probably run the Wildcat, or something close to it. His name is Reggie Bush. While not much of a passer he may be able to throw some short stuff. But he's also a threat to take it to the house. Is Michael Vick a better runner than Reggie Bush? You'd have a hard time convincing me of that.

Vick to the Saints isn't gonna happen. Tom Benson is too media conscious, too interested in portraying the Saints as a positive community influence. Vick is too much of a hate magnet. If I had to pick two teams that maybe could afford to take a chance on Vick it would be the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. The Lions because their fans already pretty much hate them so much it would be worth doing anything to win a game. If Vick could deliver victories, the fans in Detroit would forgive anything. The Seattle Seahawks are a possibility just because of Jim Mora, but I doubt even he would go there. But Michael Vick to the New Orleans Saints ain't gonna happen. And that's a good thing.

Lions at Saints Tickets - Revenge of Joey Harrington

Drew Brees has a total lock on the quarterback position of the New Orleans Saints. And rightly so. Backing up Drew Brees will be either Mark Brunell or Joey Harrington. Think what this means for Detroit Lions at Saints tickets. You could actually be there to watch Joey Harrington pick apart a Detroit Lions secondary and gain some measure of revenge for the way the Lions have destroyed his career to this point.
The fact is that Harrington never had a prayer. He came to a team that was demolished by Matt Millen and has yet to recover. No O-line, no running game, and no defense. What quarterback, especially as a rookie, could develop on that team? But coming out of college, Harrington had all the physical tools. Sean Payton, who certainly know a good quarterback when he sees one, believes Harrington can make a good backup for his New Orleans Saints.
Now picture this: Sean Payton takes Joey Harrington, instills confidence and hope into him, and rebuilds him into a solid NFL backup. Harrington won't start as long as Brees is healthy, but if the Saints take a huge lead over the Lions, it's entirely possible that the Lions at Saints game could turn into a show called: The Revenge of Joey Harrington.

Saints Schedule is Formidable

It seems our New Orleans Saints schedule is a powerful one, full of plenty of opportunities to reach a national audience. But dissecting the Saints schedule gives me pause, because there are some staunch teams here, and the opportunities for defeats are just as prominent as the opportunities for glory. Here's a quick look at some games on the Saints schedule that I think will be crucial. It's overly optimistic to expect to win them all, but a good showing on this schedule would mean the Saints are finally among the NFL elite.

First stop is Saints at Philadelphia Eagles, a 2008 NFC Championship participant.

Another road game in Week 3 brings Saints at Buffalo Bills. While Buffalo has been a 7-9 team recently, take into consideration their division and conference.

Saints at home against the New York Giants will be big. The Giants are expected to contend for a Super Bowl and a win here puts the Saints in good position in a playoff tiebreaker.

Saints at Miami Dolphins. Dolphins won their division in 2008 and look better than anyone expected.

Begining to get the idea that this Saints schedule is a formidable one? Wait, we're just getting started.

NFC South Divisional Play Hits the Saints Schedule on Nov. 2 when it's Saints vs Atlanta in the Superdome. The Falcons are oozing confidence and brought in Tony Gonzales. The next weeks brings Saints vs Carolina Panthers, a 12-4 team with a dynamite running game and a very good defense. This is also a team that has given the Saints fits in recent years.

Nov. 30 in the Superdome will be the supreme test as the Saints take on the New England Patriots. If we're really lucky, this is a Super Bowl preview.

The Saints schedule concludes with some real doozies. Cowboys at Saints, Saints at Falcons, Saints at Carolina Panthers.

How's that for an NFL schedule of grueling proportions? You can see where this will either be the greatest slate of Saints games in years or a menu of agony. Stay tuned.

Saints Season Tickets - Explosive Excitement in the Superdome

For Saints football fans there's nothing quite like your Saints season tickets arriving in the mail. Holding them in your hands, you just know something good is going to happen. In 2009, saints season tickets hold out the hope of being the best ever. Here's what's in store:

Saints vs Detroit Lions - This is just a warmup for the real thing. Nobody expects the Lions to be competitive just yet. But you will get a feel for how the new defense is going to look and hopefully the Saints get out with a win and healthy.

Saints vs N.Y. Jets - Now things are starting to heat up. By this time the Saints have returned from road games against the Eagles and Bills. Saints 3-0 or what. That's two tough teams. We're either rejoicing, in agony, or keeping our hopes up. I think we're going to be happy with where we are.

Saints vs N.Y. Giants - We're coming off a bye and facing Eli Manning. The Giants are probably involved in a real struggle in the NFC East. The hometown cheers Manning then lusts for his blood.

Saints vs Atlanta Falcons - The hated Falcons cruise into town. Last season's upstarts, our perpetual nemesis. This is a must have game in the NFC South.

Saints vs Carolina Panthers - The Saints vs Panthers game has been pivotal in the last few years with neither team taking a decisive lead. Last minutes heroics should be expected, with luck, it'll be the New Orleans Saints doing the celebrating.

Saints vs New England Patriots - If you want to be the best you gotta beat the best. The Patriots have been on top so long it's time someone unseats them. I'm hoping an aging Patriots defense can't keep up with Drew Brees and the potent Saints offense.

Saints vs Dallas Cowboys - The Cowboys face a lot of uncertainty heading into the season. By Dec 19th we'll know if their grand experiment is working. Either way, the Cowboys are legendary and one of the biggest draws in the NFL.

Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers - It was the Bucs that captured the last Super Bowl in the NFC South. That was a different coach and a different team. The 2009 version will be competitive and the New Orleans Saints need every NFC South win they can get.

Raiders vs Saints Tickets - NFL Madness Awaits

If I could get my hands on Raiders vs Saints tickets I think I could really enjoy them. I've always had a soft spot for madness, and I think Al Davis has delivered the Oakland Raiders deep into the forest of dementia. It's sad because Davis was a guy you could admire at one time. A daring, speak your mind, walk your own path kind of guy who spit in the face of the NFL and won. (Mostly anyway)

Time, as it will do to all of us, has diminished Al Davis. And as many of us are prone to do, Davis has held on to the past too long. There's a reason most of us will settle back in our later years, happily turning over the reins to a younger generation. If we're smart, we'll hand pick a good kid and bring him along. But for some, that choice never happens and the end isn't pretty. Maybe I wouldn't enjoy Raiders vs Saints tickets after all. To remember the days when Silver and Black was feared, not jeered, might bring a tear to my eyes. Let it go, Al.

2009 Saints Tickets - The Jeremy Shockey Show?

One thing the New Orleans Saints have been missing from the best offense in the NFL has been a premiere pass catching tight end. It's kind of odd really. You would have though the Saints would have made that a priority the first year Sean Payton came to New Orleans. But they didn't and as a Saints Tickets holder I wondered why.

The move in that direction came last season when the Saints traded for Jeremy Shockey. While I was a little uncertain about the deal I figured Shockey would get his chance and hopefully thrive in the Saints offense. It didn't happen. Lingering injuries kept Shockey on the sidelines a few games and limited his ability in others. 50 receptions and 0 TD's wasn't what Saints ticket holders bargained for. Then came the infamous "dehydration" episode in Las Vegas and I began to believe the Saints had purchased a lemon.

Saints training camp has replaced that attitude with one of optimism. While it's still too early too tell, it seems like Shockey could be settling in and fulfilling his potential in the Saints scheme. Imagine a New Orleans Saints offense with Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Reggie Bush, and Robert Meacham on the field of the Superdome, all healthy. The thought is staggering. Who do you cover?

In his best year Jeremy Shockey caught 66 passes and accounted for seven touchdowns. Reproducing, or bettering, that mark would be huge for the New Orleans Saints. It would mean teams would have to figure out a way to cover at least 4 different skill players capable of delivering a big offensive play. Pray for the injury bug to stay away. Then pray you'll even be able to get Saints Tickets and see the Jeremy Shockey Show.

Saints Tickets - Saints vs Houston Texans

Ok, Game 2 of the Saints preseason is an away game against the Houston Texans. Probably not the most interesting team we could face but wait........the Houston Texans may be a sleeper. Houston has had the misfortune to be in the same division as the Colts. Seems like it's always someone else rising.

That could change in the 2009 NFL season. The Texans have some building blocks and the Saints will have to topple them to win this one. On defense, the Saints have to face an offense that finished only slightly behind their own as the Texans racked up over 380 yards a game. It should be a good test for the Saints secondary facing Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson. Both are good and probably getting better in 2009. Toss in Steve Slaton, who was a gem in his rookie year with 1,659 total yards and the Saints defense has it's hands full.

The Saints offense should have an easier time. Houston finished in the middle of the pack amongst most defensive categories. If you're looking for a story here try Mario Williams vs Reggie Bush, who went 1-2 in the draft.

Reliant Park is a nice place. I went there once but all I remember is that the beer was very expensive. The Saints vs Texans game should be a nice road trip. Houston isn't that far and the nightlife is good.

Saints Tickets - Training Camp Takes

New Orleans Saints ticket holders may reap a bonanza in 2009 based on what I'm getting out of training camp. The Saints have a lot of optimism, which is great, but everyone looks like a winner right now. Keeping our enthusiasm in check here's what I'm seeing.

Drew Brees is the man. Still. Barring injury he'll have a Pro Bowl year. What am I saying? Don't even think about losing Brees.

Saints Running Backs - Bush gets the attention. But both Mike Bell and Pierre Thomas look like winners. Sean Payton may have a hard time deciding who'll start. Or maybe the Saints will shuffle them in and out. There are pros and cons to that so let's see if one of them can seperate themselves. Downside? Bell had trouble holding on to the ball in practice today. That a biggee.

Saints Wide Receivers - Marques Colston has been catching everything. Surprisingly, good things are coming from Robert Meacham, who's having one heck of a camp. Devery Henderson has his work cut out for him if he wants to keep a spot.

Jeremy Shockey, of whom I admit being dubious, seems to be elevating his game. Hurt for most of last season he may have been given a bum rap. A productive Shockey creates an even bigger monster for opposing defenses. I hope at least he stays hydrated in 2009.

Malcolm Jenkins? Still no ink on paper at this post. he may be doing himself some harm here. the Saints defense is high on themselves, jelling into a cohesive unit. This is where it happens and with the signing of Jabari Greer and the return of Tracy Porter, every day Jenkins misses is a mark against him for starting the opener. It's weird too, because the slots above and below him have been filled. That usually makes it a slam dunk.

Saints Tickets - Saints vs Bengals Pre-season Sauce Aug 14

While the start of this Saints season is certainly exciting, it's still pretty hard to get worked up over pre-season Saints games. Rather, I believe, the pre-season should be what gets you worked up. So with that in mind, I still think there are some interesting facets of this Saints vs Bengals game. Things that you should keep an eye on just because you like NFL football and don't want to sound like an idiot talking with your friends.

On the New Orleans Saints side, obviously you'll be looking at the secondary and how they respond to a quarterback like Carson Palmer. Out most of 2008, Palmer returns supposedly healthy and rested. Saints defensive backs will be tested working against a veteran Pro Bowl quarterback and his favorite target Chad Ochocinco. You might also get an idea of what kind of backups the Saints have on the defensive line since Grant and Smith will be out the first four games. Offensively for the Saints just keep your fingers crossed nobody gets hurt. I'm already a little leery of Reggi Bush sitting out practices with a swollen knee.

From a Cincinnati Bengals perspective you'll want to get an idea of just how far along Carson Palmer is in his recovery. His health is an issue, especially since reports are that his O-Line leaves a lot to be desired. As Carson goes, so go the Bengals. On defense the Bengals have a decent group with no real standouts. Remember, this group has to outplay the rest of the NFC North, a group that includes the defending Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

So while Saints vs Bengals may not be high on your list, it's a great chance to welcome the Saints back, renew your relationship with the Superdome, and scout out another NFL team you may not get to see again for a long time.

Saints Tickets - Defense is Key in NFL and the Saints Now Have It

It has been said that NFl football has become a passing game. Back in the day, the passing attack was looked on in disdain and team concentrated on being able to run the football. That began to change when AFL teams like the Kansas City Chiefs began to gain fans with a wide open passing attack. In 2009, a team that can't pass the ball won't go very far. The reverse is also true. A team that can't stop the pass in the NFL is going to be staying home come playoff time.

The New Orleans Saints are the proof of that. In 2008 Drew Brees threw for over 5,000 yards. But the most prolific offense in the league sat in the stands when the playoffs begen. A Saints defense that gave up almost 25 points a game wasn't good enough. A Saints defense that allowed over 50 passes of 20 plus yards was a joke. A Saints defense that consistently yielded the big play, crippled a team that couldn't run in power situations. It was Drew Brees and the wide receivers carrying the load.

The 2009 Saints defense has been designed to cure those ills. New Saints Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams has basically begun from the ground up to instill a new outlook on a beaten down group. To do that the Saints defense will incorporate new faces and a new scheme. Known for his all out warfare plans when it comes to football, Williams is lighting up Saints traing camp with a mentality that says every time you step on the field you win. Practice or games makes no difference.

It's a mentality that many Saints defenders are welcoming. No more sitting back and waiting. Get after the passer, get after the runner, get after the receiver. Hit and then hit again. For Saints fans who dreaded seeing the ball in the air when opposing teams had possesion, this Saints defense should be a breath of fresh air. Certainly, aggresiveness sometimes gives up the big play. But it also yields turnovers and opportunities. "Win or die trying" sounds better than "Try not to give up too much."

Buffalo Bills vs New Orleans Saints Tickets - Sept 27 -Ralph Wilson Stadium

In Week 3, the New Orleans Saints vs Buffalo Bills looks like a battle of wannabe's. The Buffalo Bills wanna be in contention in the AFC East against Miami and especially New England. The New Orleans Saints wanna be in the thick of the NFC South. To do that, each team will have to beat quality opponents both within and out of their own division and conference.

For the Buffalo Bills, that prep time comes with an opener against the New England Patriots on the road and a contest against the Bucs at Ralph Wilson prior to the Bills vs Saints game. By this time we should be starting to get a feeling about what's going on with the Buffalo Bills. But maybe not. If Marshawn Lynch has to sit out the first two games, the personality of the Bills will be greatly affected. It may not be until the Bills face the Saints that they show their true colors.

New Orleans meanwhile, will be coming off what's expecetd to be a cruiser against the Detroit Lions and a bruiser against the Philadephia Eagles. This will be their first real contest against an AFC team, generally considered to be of higher caliber than the NFC.

My take? The Bills haven't shown a great ability to rush the passer. That's a killer when you face a quarterback like Drew Brees. The Bills will have to blitz early and often to get pressure, which sometime plays into the hands of a quarterback like Brees. He like the short stuff. For the New Orleans Saints, they'll still be handicapped by the suspensions of Charles Grant and Will Smith. Although they've made a point of being deep in defensive lineman, it still won't be up to snuff. If they can't generate a pass rush, Trent Edwards could deal out some damage to a brand new Saints secondary trying to cover Terrell Owens.

There are a lot of variables in this Bills vs Saints contest, a lot of what ifs? Being early in the season, it's hard to call it crucial for either team, unless one of them is coming in with goose egg in the win column. With the Bills trying to keep pace with New England, the onus is probably on Buffalo.

Redskins vs Saints Tickets - Schizo Skins at Home

The Washington Redskins vs New Orleans Saints game will come to FedEx Field on Dec 6th, 2009. The question is, will either team be in the playoff hunt? For the Washington Redskins to make this a playoff implications game, they'll have to be in the close running with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles. The NFC East is one tough division to call this far out ahead. Any one of these teams is capable of cruising into the NFL Playoffs.

For the Redskins to be in that numbers means Jim Zorn has to keep his team on an even keel. No huge letdowns. In 2008 Washington started at 6-2 and looked well on ther way. A 2-6 finish ground things to a halt. It can't happen again so Zorn will be watching quarterback Jason Campbell very closely. Any sign of a droppoff like 2008 and either Todd Collins or even Colt Brennan will be pulling the trigger. Ditto the running game. Clinton Portis is a top notch running back but injuries slowed him late last season. Fewer touches early on might keep him in better shape but the falloff in talent makes that unlikely.

The New Orleans Saints too, will be facing a tough set of divisional opponents. The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons both posted double digit wins in 2008. The Panthers are playing a pat hand but the Falcons beefed up their offense with Tight End Tony Gonzales, another weapon for quarterback Matt Ryan. For the Saints, being in the playoff hunt means winning those close games at the end. The Saints defense just gave up too much last season, especially long passes. Changes have been made though, and hopes are soaring that this New Orleans Saints team is ready to push deep into the playoffs.

There are a lot of "ifs" surrounding this game. If the Redskins can contend and if the Saints can stop other teams, then Redskins vs Saints will be an important game with huge bearing on the NFC Playoff picture. Odd are one team will need this game to make the cut.

Cowboys vs Saints Tickets - Late Season War

Cowboys vs Saints tickets in the Superdome Dec 19th will most likely spell hope for one team and trouble for the other. The Dallas Cowboys will be battling for a playoff spot in the NFC East. The New Orleans Saints will be fighting for another spot in the NFC South. Since both teams eneter the 2009 NFL season with big questions hanging over their heads, this could be a nake or break game in the NFC.

For the Cowboys, the eviction of PacMan Jones and T.O. signify a return to the concept of team "chemistry." In the past, Jerry Jones has gone for pure talent. Now it seems as if he realizes that talent alone can't do it, that an NFL team has to fit together on the field, and disruptions to harmony can disrupt a season. For better or worse, the Dallas Cowboys are now the team of Tony Romo. A late season win over another NFC team expected to contend would be huge.

The New Orleans Saints have also made their changes. But Saints coaches have been very careful not to tamper with their NFL leading offense. For New Orleans, the changes have all come on the defensive side of the ball. A new coordinator, veteran safety, and more than likely new faces at cornerback spell an end to a soft defensive scheme. Under new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the key word is attack.

With a multitude of new coaches on the sidelines and the ever changing landscape in the NFL, it's hard to look too far ahead. But to the casual observer, Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints, late in the season, looks like a prime time game.
