Lions vs Saints Sept 13th Superdome – No Brown, No Thomas but Plenty of Worries?

Heading into the Lions vs Saints game we find ourselves looking at a couple of mysteries. Or more than a couple really. Obviously Jammal Brown won’t be playing which is a big minus for the Saints. His absence makes me very nervous. Protecting Drew Brees is the biggest challenge facing this team and Brown’s absence makes that a huge undertaking. Hopefully, a running game can take some of the pressure off. Which brings us to our next worry, which is the absence of Pierre Thomas.

Thomas has not been practicing and reports are that his knee is ailing, compounded by a laceration said to come from a tussle with a fence. Skeptics are doubting this story and feeding speculation and rumor. I won’t get into that but his lack of time on the field is another worry for Saints fans.

Other issues at the forefront of this Lions and Saints matchup are the problems with Will Smith and Charles Grant. The NFl needs to get off it’s butt and make a decision. I hate the idea of pushing any possible suspensions back to later weeks when the meat of the toughest Saints schedule I’ve ever seen comes calling.
