It’s been a long wait but the most horrendous preseason in history is now over. It’s time to get your Redskins vs Saints tickets out and ready and prepare yourself and the rest of your Who Dat family for the season opener against RG3 and the Washington Redskins in the Superdome on Sept 9th.
There have been plenty of questions answered during this last few weeks but many more remain. For one thing, the Saints defense has proven that when it’s playing well it can keep a good offense in check. But it can also be burned. What remains to be seen is just how well this defense performs now that the whole package can be put in place. I believe Curtis Lofton will be a key player for New Orleans if he stays healthy. I’m also looking forward to a big season from Akiem Hicks, who’s done well so far. I’m a little less confident in the secondary where Jabari Greer has been recovering from a sports hernia and Patrick Robinson has gotten burned a few times. Hopefully we haven’t seen what they can really do, having been held in check by the coaching staff.
The New Orleans Saints offense is a different story. Drew Brees is signed, sealed, and delivered and looks as potent as ever. Jimmy Graham is going to be a beast. I’m still a tad bit worried about the health of Darren Sproles but hey, could this kid Travaris Cadet be a star in the making? Saints ticket holders think he just might be. The wide receivers appear to be in good shape as always, though it was somewhat of a bummer to see Nick Toon not pay immediate dividends. Overall, we can expect to get our usual abundance of points from the Saints offense.
As for the Redskins the big story is Robert Griffin III and will remain so. Griffin brings an energy to this Washington Redskins team and it’s fan base that’s hard to measure in terms of wins. The Saints defense will have to keep him corralled the whole game. Let this guy bust out and you’ve got problems. On paper the New Orleans Saints should easily win but Griffin is a big Wild Card favtor. Until the Saints and the rest of the NFL get a read on this guy you have to be leery.
As for tickets, there’s still a fair amount of redskins vs Saints tickets on the market and some good choices in seating. The New Orleans Saints are a big draw now and we just have to get used to it.
