The Saints finished up their pre-season games pretty much as expected. The starters watched. On the field were players to evaluate. In my mind Ron Harper may have earned himself a spot with his return ability. Saints ticket holders might be watching a guy who can generate some good field position for the offense.
The running back position is wide open after three spots. Payton may decide to keep a lot of running backs due to thr frequency with which Bush gets hurt and because Thomas is not at full stregth either. Cut Hamilton, or Donaldson, and they may not make it back to the practice squad.
Wide receivers Roby and Green are too close too call and I haven’t seen enough of Arrington to even guess.
There’s been talk of cutting Harrington. While his last performance wasn’t great, remember he was out there with backups. When he’s had the starters to work with he did well. (Remember Houston)
We’ll find out this weekend and then we’ll get ready for Detroit Lions vs New Orleans Saints for real.
